Early on Tuesday morning Dr Noreen von Cramon-Taubadel’s most recent paper was published in Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences. Since then Noreen has been inundated with press interviews and her work is being picked up across the world.
The paper “Global human mandibular variation reflects differences in agricultural and hunter-gatherer subsistence strategies” test the theory that transition from a largely hunter-gatherer to an agricultural subsistence strategy across many parts of the world has had a knock-on effect on the growth and development of the human skull and lower jaw.
