Ethnobotanist in Residence 2019 – Professor Christian Vogl

Professor Christian Vogl from BOKU in Vienna will be in residence January 22-25th, 2019, as part of the CBCD/SAC Ethnobotanist in Residence Programme. Professor Vogl is an organic farmer and and expert on agronomy, organic farming systems, knowledge systems, research methods, and has ethnobotanical expertise in Mexico (Maya), Cuba, Peru, Brazil, and in Austria, where he and his wife Brigitte have been studying homegardens and the changing alpine environment in the southern Tyrol for two decades.

Professor Vogl will give talks on Human-Environment Change in the Alps (Wednesday 14:00-17:00, Stirling Library) and the Ethnobotany of Homegardens in Chiapas and Peru (Thursday, 10:00-12:00, Swingland), and will meet with staff and students to discuss postgraduate research projects.
