Turner Contemporary Gallery
  "Turner Contemporary Gallery" by DeFacto.

Artists Marcus Coates and Feral Practice will be joined by Dr Nicholas Newton-Fisher, primate behavioural ecologist and expert in wild chimpanzee behaviour, and Volker Sommer, Professor of Evolutionary Anthropology at the University of London, whose research focuses on primates’ social and sexual behaviour, cognition and rituals. The event takes place at the Turner Contemporary in Margate on Saturday 21st July at 14:30.

This is an opportunity to ask the panellists a question about your life or human society. It can be a personal concern, or a broader social, political issue. You are welcome to submit your question to www.askthewild.net or bring it with you on the day.

The panellists will answer the audience’s questions through their specialist knowledge of our primate cousins and bring fresh perspectives to our human concerns.

Subverting a ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ format, Ask the Apes draws on and celebrates the vast resource of knowledge that apes, and the humans that study them, have accumulated.

This event is part of Ask the Wild, a project by British artists Marcus Coates and Feral Practice. Ask the Wild offers fresh perspectives on personal, social, and political issues in human society, by bringing the expert knowledge of the natural history disciplines to bear on everyday human problems and dilemmas.

Tickets are £10 / £6 concessions. Book via Turner Contemporary
