Volunteers sought for on-campus conservation project

Learn a new skill, meet people and help out

There should be some on-campus coppicing in Bluebell Woods tomorrow, Wednesday 19 March (the woods behind Venue). The activity should start at around 10.00am and will be in approximately 2 hour shifts.

DICE’s Dr Ian Bride and Kent’s Grounds Manager, Paul Griffiths will be leading the activity (weather permitting), equipment and guidance will be provided. If you are interested in taking part, or being involved in a similar activity at another time, please email Ian Bride (I.G.Bride@kent.ac.uk) with your name and contact details, along with an idea of what time you will be free.

It’s a great activity to take part in with high conservation relevance, see wikipedia to find out a little more:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coppicing
