Orphan chimpanzees are released into the wild using advanced GPS technology

Chimpanzee Release

A group of 12 orphan chimpanzees were released back into the wild with the aid of sophisticated GPS tracking technology. The release is the first of its kind to use VHF-GPS store-on-board ARGOS tracking collars to monitor the progress of the chimpanzees.  The ARGOS system emits GPS points to satellites downloadable via the internet.
