This project focuses on developing a market-based scheme for biodiversity conservation at a landscape scale in Mexico. The research is concerned with valuing the benefits of re-afforestation to combat climate change and restore biodiversity using stated preference methodology. The project has a strong policy focus and is contributing to the design of national land use policy to meet national climate change objectives and contribute to rural livelihoods through the implementation of ‘a payments for ecosystem services’ initiative.
