Funny Rabbit is a monthly comedy night at the Gulbenkian café. It features two comedians from the national comedy circuit, and up to three short guest acts from Kent students. The MC is the School of Arts and Architectures’ own Oliver Double, whose wonky compering includes catchy songs, cheerful political rage, and asking the audience stupid questions. Don’t be surprised if he comes and talks to you before the show, because he makes a point of coming around and greeting punters personally. He might even offer you a free badge. There’s also a caption competition, and the show ends with the audience voting for the winner, and the winner taking home a weird grocery-based prize.
Funny Rabbit goes out of its way to be friendly and inclusive, and we strive to make sure that the line-up of acts is as inclusive as possible. We embrace diversity in all its forms – not just giving a platform to people with different identities, but also promoting different styles of comedy. We are also deeply committed to silliness, playfulness, and industrial-strength fun.
Funny Rabbit is radical and exciting, but also warm and snuggly as a bunny rabbit. If you like stand-up comedy, you’ll love Funny Rabbit.
