Henry Martindale was born in Worcester in 1893 and moved to 4 Bank Terrace in Thomas Street, Rochester, sometime before his 18<\/span>th<\/sup><\/span> birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 1911, Henry was an 18 year old, single machinist and the only child of his father Ernest Martindale, a painter and mother Jane Martindale. His parents were both born in Birmingham.<\/span><\/p>\n

Henry served as a Rifleman in the Rifle brigade, having enlisted in Chatham. His regiment number was 5741. Henry died on July 2<\/span>nd<\/sup><\/span> 1915. He died due to wounds in the France and Flanders battle.<\/span><\/p>\n
