His home address was 33 Star Hill, Rochester<\/p>\n<p><strong>Military Career<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Lieutenant 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Battalion The Queens Own Royal West Kent Regiment, joined 1908. Promoted Lieutenant 1 April 1911<\/p>\n<p>Served with BEF in France and Flanders and killed in action 23 August 1914 at Mons. Under Capt LISTER was therefore sent forward to support C Coy. &amp; come under the immediate orders of Major BUCKLE. C &amp; D Coys. Had since their arrival on the line of the canal put their positions in as thorough state of defence as there was time for.<\/p>\n<p>7.30AM.<\/p>\n<p>When the mounted troops had moved out north of the canal A Coy. Took a position to cover their retirement at the road junction south of the E in TERTR<u>E<\/u> (MONS map B.T.7a)<\/p>\n<p>12:0 NOON<\/p>\n<p>Later the cyclists were driven in by superior force of GERMAN infantry, A Coy. Coming under heavy fire (rifle &amp; shrapnel) &amp; being forced to retire on the line of the canal. Their casualties were killed Lieut C.K. ANDERSON &amp; 6 other ranks, wounded Lt A.A.E.CHITTY &amp; 29 other ranks, missing Capt.
