These virtual clinical assistants have potential to ease pressure on NHS staff by answering common questions, delivering information, and assisting with routine care tasks.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Funded through the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ukri.org\/opportunity\/health-technologies-connectivity-awards\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">UKRI EPSRC Health Technologies Connectivity Award<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, the project will see researchers from\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kmms.ac.uk\/person\/professor-sukhi-s-shergill\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kent and Medway Medical School<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/school-of-engineering-mathematics-and-physics\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/school-of-computing\/people\/3870\/masala-giovanni-luca\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">School of Computing<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0work together with two key NHS providers,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kmpt.nhs.uk\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(KMPT) and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtw.nhs.uk\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0(MTW).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The project places particular emphasis on supporting rural and coastal communities, where residents often face limited access to healthcare services and persistent health inequalities.
