We recently had the privilege of hosting the highly anticipated hybrid “Democratisation of Research Impact Strategy Conference 2023” here at the University of Kent. We sought to bridge the gap between theory and academic practice to deliver measurable and meaningful impact for tomorrow’s world.

The University of Kent recently had the privilege of hosting the highly anticipated hybrid “Democratisation of Research Impact Strategy Conference 2023”, seeking to bridge the gap between theory and academic practice to deliver measurable and meaningful impact for tomorrow’s world.

With an impressive line-up of keynote speakers, insightful case studies, engaging panel discussions, interactive breakout networking sessions, and thought-provoking highlights, the conference proved invaluable for all attendees looking for more of the Research Impact missing curriculum.

In addition to our UK attendees, the event brought together members from the Higher Education Institution ecosystem from Australia, the USA, Spain, the Caribbean, Ghana, Japan, New Zealand, and Turkey.

In the realm of knowledge and collaboration, this successful academic conference has ignited the spark of curiosity among attendees, lit the path of innovation, and left us with inspiration to move forward.

Professor Paul A. Phillips, who chaired the event, said: “Moving the academic research culture from closed to open will help overcome the blockages that stifle innovation, creativity and impact. An open research culture will also provide a pathway to help shape and attain your Research and Innovation income targets.”
