Dr Kaori Nagai (School of English) has been awarded £30,000 from the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) to establish a research network titled ‘Rethinking Fables in the Age of Global Environmental Crisis’.

The network will explore new approaches to the fable by placing postcolonial/indigenous studies in conversation with animal studies and environmental humanities. It will do this through a series of workshops exploring ‘nonhuman fables’ and ‘human-animal relationships’. The project will feature a public storytelling event to be held at the Gulbenkian Theatre as well as online exhibition featuring fable-themed images from museums and libraries.

Congratulations to Kaori on this achievement.
