To continue the discourse and look to the future of impact generation following the REF2021 submission, the Research Excellence Team has organised a<\/span>\u00a0series of six panel\u00a0<\/span>discussions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>covering<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>many<\/span>\u00a0aspects of the impact agenda\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>aptly named<\/span>\u00a0\u2018Next Generation Impact\u2019<\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The launch on<\/span>\u00a0Monday<\/span>\u00a026 April<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>was an outstanding success\u00a0<\/span>with over\u00a0<\/span>1<\/span>00<\/span>0<\/span>\u00a0views\u00a0<\/span>across<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>YouTube<\/span>\u00a0and Facebook\u00a0<\/span>\u2013attracting<\/span>\u00a0an audience\u00a0<\/span>from 54 UK universities, 6 international universities and 11 public\u00a0<\/span>s<\/span>ector<\/span>\u00a0attendees<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The live streamed panel talk with esteemed guests Dr Steven Hill<\/span>\u00a0(Director of Research at Research England)<\/span>, Dr Julie Bayley<\/span>\u00a0(Director of Research Impact at University of Lincoln)<\/span>, Dr Tina\u00a0<\/span>Haux<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(Senior Lecturer in Quantitative Social Policy at the University of Kent)\u00a0<\/span>and Professor Paul Phillips<\/span>\u00a0(Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Kent)<\/span>\u00a0discussing \u2018Perspectives on Impact\u2019 gave the audience a<\/span>n<\/span>\u00a0insight into\u00a0<\/span>research impact and how this is perceived<\/span>\u00a0across the sector.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u2018<\/span>Impact culture needs to be nurtured as part of an institutional commitment to long term and sustainable impact – for and beyond \u2013 REF\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The next event in<\/span>\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0series \u2018Embedding Impact in Research: from Planning to Publication\u2019\u00a0<\/span>will be live streamed on Thursday 13 May<\/span>\u00a012-1pm<\/span>.
