This one day programme will provide the knowledge, confidence and practical tools necessary to engage successfully in enterprise activities.
The programme is intended for;
- New and early career academics who would like to develop the skills necessary for enterprise activity
- Experienced researchers or academics with little or no industry experience who would like to do enterprise work
- Professional services staff who are new to enterprise roles or are working at the interface between academia and external partners for the first time
- PhD students whose projects are at the interface between academia and industry, for example, collaborative projects or applied research
The programme covers;
- how enterprise activities fit into the wider University strategies
- how to generate and develop valuable external links and networks
- the basic intellectual property considerations relating to collaborative work
- how to access KIE and wider University enterprise support resources.
In addition, the training will provide an opportunity to:
- Learn how to define and demonstrate the impact of enterprise activities
- Develop a better appreciation of the language of business and enterprise
- Practice developing and promoting an industry or collaborative project proposal
- Access information on a wide variety of knowledge exchange and enterprise activities
