The end of the year is nigh!

I can’t quite believe it, but this Friday coming is the last day of the academic year. Hasn’t time flown! This year sure has had its challenges! And this blog post is a little thank you to all our students.

Last year we initiated collection points with FareShare, a charity in Kent who collect food and distribute it for people in need. Students donated an incredible 330kg – that’s more than a third of a tonne! Can we do better this year? Here’s our stall at Rutherford last Thursday already bristling with goodies for families in Kent. Look out for our next collection days! Keynes Tues 13th (10am-2pm) and Parkwood Admin Thurs 15th (10am-2pm).

Not only that, but we’ve had an additional British Heart Foundation clothing bank installed by R-block bin store, Keynes – and within three days that already saw the largest number of donations of all the banks on campus! Wow, you guys are awesome! Here’s the one at Bossenden, Parkwood, being installed.

Outside the launderette at Bossenden Court in Park Wood, University of Kent, a new clothing bank for the British Heart Foundation is installed, ready for students' donations.

This is not to forget our Medway students by any means! We’re extremely proud of them for upping the recycling rates on the Medway campus by a staggering 102%! This is just unbelievable! Loads of love coming your way down the M2!

Do keep your eye out for the updates as I’ll be letting you all know how you did when all the stats are in. I’m sure this year is going to be better than ever!
