{"id":206,"date":"2024-07-01T16:06:03","date_gmt":"2024-07-01T15:06:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/qaco\/?p=206"},"modified":"2024-07-02T09:10:36","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T08:10:36","slug":"july-2024-regulatory-framework-updates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/qaco\/2024\/07\/01\/july-2024-regulatory-framework-updates\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2024: Regulatory Framework Updates"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-39 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/qaco\/files\/2022\/12\/updates-typewriter.jpg\" alt=\"Typewriter with the word &quot;Update&quot;\" width=\"785\" height=\"441\" \/><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Please note that the changes listed below have taken effect in the month prior to publication, unless specified otherwise.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following document has recently been published:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Guidance on Oral Examination Conducted by Video Link has been published and is available with the other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/education\/regulatory-framework\/policies-and-procedures-examinations-guidance\/examination-guidance\">Examination Guidance.\u00a0<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following changes have recently been applied to the Code of Practice for Taught Courses:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Code of Practice for Taught Courses, Annex T (Quality Assurance Policy for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships): 15.2 amended to change the recommendation of Assessment, Progression and Award Board of Examiners to be staged at least once a term instead of twice.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Code of Practice for Taught Courses, Annex T (Quality Assurance Policy for Higher and Degree Apprenticeships): 15.3 added new section &#8220;The release of Integrated End Point Assessment final marks is strictly prohibited until the respective module marks have been ratified at the Awarding Board of Examiners.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following changes have recently been applied to the Academic Appeals Policy:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Academic Appeals Policy 3.3: A new section regarding the process surrounding students who are visa sponsored and submit an appeal against the decision to withdraw them due to low attendance and engagement.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Academic Appeals Policy Part D &#8211; a new segment that details &#8220;Appeals against Social Work Suitability Procedures and Fitness to Practice Procedures.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The following changes have recently been applied to Procedures and Guidance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">Social Work Professional Suitability Procedures: Section 5 updated to say that if a student wishes to appeal against the judgement of the Suitability Panel they may do so through, and in accordance with, the University\u2019s Academic Appeals Policy by submitting a Final Appeal.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Fitness to Practise Procedures for Courses Other than Social Work: Section 6 updated to say that if a student wishes to appeal against the judgement of the Fitness to Practise Panel they may do so through, and in accordance with, the University\u2019s Academic Appeals Policy by submitting a Final Appeal.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"ui-provider a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z ab ac ae af ag ah ai aj ak\" dir=\"ltr\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please note that the changes listed below have taken effect in the month prior to publication, unless specified otherwise. &nbsp;
