Please note that the changes listed below have taken effect in the month prior to publication, unless specified otherwise.
The following changes have recently been applied to the Credit Framework:
7.9.3: Clarification that the final module mark should be judged as ‘significantly out of line’ where it falls in a range that is at least two classification bands below the student’s mean average level of achievement as derived from those modules in the Stage that were unaffected by the mitigating circumstances reported.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 2.2.3 Inclusion of statement on Unauthorised Use of Artificial Intelligence.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 2.2.5 Minor amendment to better reflect wider HE legislation on the definition of Contract Cheating.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 4.1-4.1.1 Change to guidance on inclusion of Student Representatives in Academic Misconduct Committees. Exceptions to the rule are outlined. The agreement of the student is required in such instances.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 4.4 Updated to include a statement that Committee meetings will be conducted free of bias and consider diversity of membership to reflect EDI guidance as per the OIA Good Practice Framework, and advice from SCCO and the Student Union.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 6.2.1 Clarification on the use of Artificial Intelligence detection software (Turnitin) and further guidance on the use of Turnitin Reports as evidence in Academic Misconduct referrals.
Annex 10 (Academic Misconduct Policies and Procedures): 7.1.1 Amended to state that students will be informed of the Committee membership and will be provided with the information to be considered by the Committee in advance of the meeting (in-line with the OIA Good Practice Framework).
Annex 10 Appendix A (Exemplar Offences and Penalties): Addition of new type of offence ‘Unauthorised use of Artificial Intelligence’.

Instructions to Examiners of Research Courses: Updated 5.2 Examiners’ recommendations to match Regulations for Research Courses and added references to DClinSci where appropriate throughout.
