The following changes have recently been applied to the Codes of Practice for Taught Courses:
Annex A, Appendix D – Industrial Placement Requirements for Postgraduate Taught Courses: This new Appendix sets out the industrial placement requirements for postgraduate taught courses for September intake. All new and existing postgraduate taught courses must comply with these requirements from the 2023/24 academic year onwards.
Pro forma documents for new and revised courses and revised modules: Pro forma documents for courses and modules have been slightly revised and are now available on SharePoint:
The following changes have recently been applied to the Codes of Practice for Research Courses:
Annex E and Templates – Annual Monitoring: New template with the monitoring approach used in 22/23
Annex K: External and Internal Examiners: update of number of examiners for HPLs, GTAs
Annex K, Appendix 1 – Recommendation for the Appointment of Examiners for a Research Candidate Form: Candidate details – removed “and relevant fee paid” as payment is taken later
External examiner details – amended “gender” to “sex” and added footnote to second external examiner to clarify meaning of “candidate is a member of staff”
Oral examination section – updated to reflect change to flexible approach regarding location/mode of the viva

Sections 1 and 2 – updated to reflect change to flexibility over viva location.
Section 4 – amended link to appeals policy
Section 5 – removed as no longer need to formally request examination via video link
