Pint of Science Festival

The University of Kent (UoK) Pint of Science (PoS) Team has been delivering research events in pubs in the month of May for the past three years in collaboration with the international Pint of Science organisers. To date, 12 events have taken place in Canterbury, Medway & Tonbridge. 36 research staff and students have shared their research with 500 members of the public. Topics of discussion have spanned all three faculties and involved hands-on interactive activities, genuinely engaging the public with the research that happens at Kent.

A number of spin-off events are now planned over the coming year. In July 2019, the University hosted a talk from retired NASA astronaut Tony Antonelli, drawing a huge crowd to campus.

The Pint of Science team aim to take the festival to our European Centres in future years.
