This competitive scheme provides support at a rate of \u00a3150 per week to allow students to undertake a piece of clinical work over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>This is a very exciting year as it is the first time there has been a placement with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kentcht.nhs.uk\/home\/\">Kent Community Health NHS Foundation\u00a0Trust<\/a>. Psychology student <strong>Jamie Mallion<\/strong> will be placed there, undertaking \u2018a qualitative exploration of\u00a0 clinical mentors\u2019 knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of research and evidence-based practice\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jana Brinkert<\/strong> and <strong>Nicola Chisnell<\/strong>\u00a0will be placed with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mtw.nhs.uk\/\">Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust<\/a>\u00a0looking at \u2018A pre-operative diet and exercise weight loss programme (GLIDE) for obese patients undergoing elective abdominal surgery: A feasibility study\u2019 and \u2018Feasibility of a longer-term (12 month) home-based exercise intervention programme (EMERGE) for patients who have undergone emergency abdominal surgery\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the scheme and to read student blogs see the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/health\/student-vacation-scheme\/index.html\">Student Vacation Scheme page<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Big success for the School of Psychology with three psychology undergraduate students being the successful applicants of the 2015 KentHealth\u00a0Student Vacation Scheme.
