{"id":4859,"date":"2022-11-25T16:52:28","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T16:52:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/?p=4859"},"modified":"2022-11-25T16:53:27","modified_gmt":"2022-11-25T16:53:27","slug":"considering-the-intersections-between-social-psychology-and-public-policy-with-professor-aarti-iyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/2022\/11\/25\/considering-the-intersections-between-social-psychology-and-public-policy-with-professor-aarti-iyer\/","title":{"rendered":"Considering the Intersections between Social Psychology and Public Policy, with Professor Aarti Iyer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On December the 7th we are thrilled to be joined by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheffield.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/academic\/aarti-iyer\">Professor Aarti Iyer<\/a> (US Environmental Protection Agency) Social psychology, and public policy.<\/p>\n<p>This session will consider the intersections between social psychology and public policy, focusing on three questions:<\/p>\n<p>(1) How social psychology can be applied to inform policy; (2) What research policy-makers find useful; and (3) What career pathways social psychologists can take to influence policy.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker Biography: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sheffield.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/academic\/aarti-iyer\">Aarti Iyer<\/a> is Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Sheffield but during the 2021-22 academic year, Aarti was based in Washington, DC as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spssi.org\/index.cfm?fuseaction=Page.ViewPage&amp;PageID=2684\">James Marshall Public Policy Fellow,<\/a> funded by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI).
