The blog will share insights and expertise from academics in the School of Psychology on issues surrounding prejudice, equality, discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>In this new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/stop\/202101\/prejudice-can-we-stop-the-inevitable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">blog series<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/212\/abrams-dominic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Abrams<\/a> will be writing his own and with other social psychologists about specific areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the origins of prejudice in infancy and childhood<\/li>\n<li>political positions and prejudice<\/li>\n<li>the role of intergroup contact and communication<\/li>\n<li>collective action<\/li>\n<li>tolerance of evil<\/li>\n<li>intolerance of diversity<\/li>\n<li>modern expressions of sexism<\/li>\n<li>unexpected effects of ageism<\/li>\n<li>implications of self-stereotyping,<\/li>\n<li>the role of emotions in prejudice and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychologytoday.com\/us\/blog\/stop\/202101\/prejudice-can-we-stop-the-inevitable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posts<\/a> might showcase particular interventions, others will focus more on theories or particular types of evidence.
