This paper reveals insights collated from research findings across the social and behavioural sciences. These findings are useful to help align human behaviour with the recommendations of epidemiologists and public health experts as well as to manage the impact of these recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>The paper, co-authored by 42 academics including\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/221\/douglas-karen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Karen Douglas<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/psychology\/people\/219\/cichocka-aleksandra\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Aleksandra Cichocka<\/a>\u00a0from the School of Psychology at Kent, covers research on topics such as conspiracy theories, fake news, leadership, threat perception, prejudice, discrimination, risk perception, social norms, political polarisation, compliance, group co-operation, culture, and social inequality.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;While efforts to develop pharmaceutical interventions for COVID-19 are under way, the social and behavioural sciences can provide valuable insights for managing the pandemic and its impacts.
