December is a great time of year to sit back, unwind, reflect, and set intentions for the year ahead. Thinking about switching things up? Why not study for a Master’s in psychology!
“My name is Dr Emma Alleyne and I am the Director of Graduate Studies (Taught) and I oversee the delivery of Kent Psychology’s MSc programmes.
Psychology is an exciting and dynamic discipline. Here at Kent, we have the most exciting portfolio of programmes for you to consider because they are direct extensions of our excellence in research and practice. For example, Social Psychology and Cognitive Psychology/Neuropsychology are led by colleagues who are world renowned for their research, seeing in awards for millions of pounds to fund ground-breaking research in conspiracy theories, political psychology, face recognition, and methods of improving memory. Equally, programmes such as Clinical Psychology and Forensic Psychology are led by researchers and practitioners alike, teaching our students about state-of-the-art psychological techniques that they actually use in their own practice.
The employment opportunities for our graduates are extensive. Our Developmental Psychology graduates pursue careers as Educational Psychologists, Academics, as well as other practitioners working with young people. Our Organisational and Business Psychology graduates enter careers in various types of organisations (across public, private, and charity sectors) to inform employers on productivity, consumer interests, and employee wellbeing and mental health, to name a few.
Finally, some of you might have pursued interests in other fields and have now made the decision to pursue a career in psychology. Our MSc Psychology conversion programme offers the foundational knowledge that can be a spring board towards that future.
As you can see, Kent Psychology is rich with diverse interests, all of which have real-world implications. I am confident that if you explore what we have to offer online, you will find a programme that is a great fit for you.”
