We are delighted to announce that this year’s Annual Lecture, “Eyewitness Memory in the Digital Age: Raising the Bar on Eyewitness Identification Procedures”, will be given by Professor Heather Flowe (University of Birmingham).
Professor Flowe’s research is centred on understanding episodic memory, particularly witness memory retrieval processes, using both experimental and applied approaches. She develops memory enhancing, broad reach, low-cost procedures that are integrated into legal systems around the world, such as VR 3D Interactive lineups. She also conducts research into preserving and protecting the memory evidence of rape victims in field settings. She is PI for the UKRI Rights for Time Network+ which commissions research on humanitarian protection initiatives in the Global South. Her research has attracted over £4.2 million in funding and is currently supported by the ESRC and AHRC.
The lecture will be held in the Templeman Library Lecture Theatre at 4pm, Friday 3 May, followed by a drinks reception from approximately 5:15 till 7pm in the Templeman Library Foyer.
