Theo is in the placement year of her BSc in Psychology with Clinical Psychology and a Placement Year at Kent. In this video, made in October 2020, she talks us through her experience of a clinical placement during a pandemic.
Video transcript:
“Hi my name is Theo and I am undergraduate student currently doing a clinical placement. It has been quite weird doing a placement during a pandemic. For example I only get to go into work two days a week and the rest I work from home.
Additionally, I haven’t really seen any service users in person nor have I met everyone in the team. However, the Trust has adapted to ensure that us university students still have a fulfilling experience. For example, I can still shadow different professionals as well as visit the psychiatric wards inside.
Additionally, I also get to see how this pandemic has affected how the Trust interacts with its service users and how the service users feel about this.
This is definitely an experience like no other.”
