Dr Markus Bindemann has secured a prestigious BA Newton Visiting Fellowship worth £25,827 for the School of Psychology. Professor Andrea Hildebrandt of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald in Germany will visit the School from July to December 2018 to collaborate with Markus on the construct validity of forensic face-matching abilities. Professor Hildebrandt holds a chair of psychological assessment at her home institution and has particular expertise in the construction and evaluation of ability tests and relevant psychometric approaches, such as structural equation modelling, as well as research interests in face cognition.
