The School of Psychology goes Above and Beyond

We were so proud to see so many of our staff recognised by students at Kent Union’s Above and Beyond event this month.

The Above and Beyond Awards were launched by Kent Union to celebrate outstanding members of staff, both academic and non-academic. Students nominate staff who they believe have gone above and beyond in their role.

After a two year hiatus, due to the global pandemic, the event held to celebrate these staff had a bumper crop, with staff who had been nominated since 2020 in attendance.

Dr Lindsey Cameron, Dr Dawn Nicholson, Dr Lazaros Gonidis, Christie Marsh and Dr Christiana Lordanou, and Dr Emma Travers Hill pictured here, were all proud recipients, winning themselves a very covetable Above and Beyond red mug. Dr Jim Everett was unable to make the ceremony but received multiple nominations.

‘We really pride ourselves in the quality of our teaching, so I am thrilled that students took the time out to nominate us, it’s really a reflection of the hard work of the whole psychology team.’ Director of Undergraduate Student Experience and Student Success, Lindsey Cameron told us ‘It was also so lovely to attend the event, to see friends and colleagues from across different schools and celebrate our achievements together.’

Nominations were also received for Dr Eduardo Vasquez, Dr Janet Sayers,, Dr Andrew Russ, Matthew Plummer, Dr Anna Brown, Professor Karen Douglas, Dr Nikhil Sengupta, Felicity Gallagher, Aarohi Khare, Dr Arnaud Wisman, Lea Kamitz, Dr Lydia Kearney, Dr Andrew Martin, Dr Zara Bergstrom, Pascal Burger, Matt Fysh, Ayse K Uskul and Dr Roger Giner-Sorolla.

Congratulations to all of them!
