Aleksandra Cichocka receives research award

Dr Aleksandra Cichocka, Reader in Political Psychology, has recently received a research award of £306K from the Leverhulme Trust for her project titled Does Identity Rhetoric Boost Online Political Message. The project commenced on October 1st, and the project is conducted in collaboration with Dr Jay Van Bavel (New York University), Dr Michal Kosinski (Stanford University) and Dr Aleksandra Cislak (University of Kent).

Aleksandra says: “I am thrilled to have secured funding from the Leverhulme Trust. The massive growth of social media has been accompanied by concerns about political polarisation and the spread of fake news. In this project, we hope to identify factors that affect diffusion of online messages. This will help us understand how social media impact citizens’ political and social welfare.”

Congratulations to Aleksandra on this achievement.
