Café Psychology Returns for the Spring!

A fortnightly series of talks, with a variety of guest speakers.

Hosted by Professor Roger Giner-Sorolla, Café Psychology is a fortnightly talk led by a variety of different speakers from the School of Psychology. Each talk is unique, based on either research interests and or hot topics in Psychology!

Psychology student Yunye Chen attended Dr Stefan Leach’s talk on ‘Moral memory bias about the sentience of animals’ in Week 16

“How Dr Stefan Leach presented his ideas was extremely fascinating. He presented a series of studies that explore how people possibly maintain motivated beliefs about animals’ sentienceTowards the end of the talk, Dr Leach discussed the question of whether such motivated beliefs can be said to objectively underestimate or overestimate animals’ sentience.”

“The session also featured “a brilliant discussion between Dr Leach and the host. You can see how their thoughts were formed and how they were trying to bring knowledge from different studies together to generate new ideas.”

“I am very much looking forward to the next talk in two weeks’ time. strongly recommend that you check it out on Moodle to review past talks and see what may interest you.”
