{"id":987,"date":"2018-03-05T16:31:49","date_gmt":"2018-03-05T16:31:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/polir-news\/?p=987"},"modified":"2018-03-05T16:55:30","modified_gmt":"2018-03-05T16:55:30","slug":"gcrf-compass-project-website-now-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/polir-news\/2018\/03\/05\/gcrf-compass-project-website-now-live\/","title":{"rendered":"GCRF-COMPASS project website now live"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content-main\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/politics\/staff\/canterbury\/korosteleva.html\">Professor Elena\u00a0Korosteleva<\/a>, Director (Professional Studies) of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/politics\/gec\/\">Global Europe Centre<\/a>\u00a0was awarded nearly \u00a33 million for\u00a0The COMPASS project back in October 2017 which aims to\u00a0<b>open up communication<\/b>\u00a0with\u00a0academics in former Soviet states\u00a0of\u00a0Azerbaijan, Belarus, Tajikistan and\u00a0Uzbekistan\u00a0by setting up\u00a0<b>hubs of excellence<\/b>\u00a0in research in these countries.<\/p>\n<p>She and her research partner, Professor Siddharth Saxena from Cambridge, say this is a research initiative to empower the target countries in\u00a0<strong>research, impact governance and public policy outreach<\/strong>. COMPASS will enable\u00a0a sea change in the UK\u2019s strategic relationship with the region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>As part of the project, a website has been developed to showcase its work, research and events as well as information about the project and its investigators.
