The events of Vilnius Summit in November 2013 and the political upheaval in Ukraine have raised questions as to the coherence and effectiveness of the EU\u2019s Eastern Partnership policy.<\/p>\n<p>This conference seeks to interrogate current understanding of the EU\u2019s capacity for influence within its neighbourhood. It will explore the changing dynamic in the EU\u2019s relationship with its neighbours and the extent to which this is adequate captured by existing approaches to the study of the EaP. The conference also seeks to develop understanding of the relationship between Russia and the European Union and the ongoing impact on the Eastern Partnership.<\/p>\n<p>The conference will bring together established scholars, research degree students and practitioners engaged in the study of the EU\u2019s Eastern neighbourhood.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em><strong>Global Europe Centre<\/strong> conference to be held on <\/em><br \/>\n<strong><em>30 June 2014<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong><em>Europe&#8217;s Near Abroad: Building an understanding of the changing Eastern Neighbourhood<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">The EU\u2019s policy towards its Eastern Neighbours is in a condition of flux.
