{"id":4075,"date":"2021-11-01T13:05:44","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T13:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/polir-news\/?p=4075"},"modified":"2022-02-02T11:02:04","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T11:02:04","slug":"spirrs-is-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/polir-news\/2021\/11\/01\/spirrs-is-back\/","title":{"rendered":"SPIRRS is back!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Our dynamic seminar series returns, to enhance the research culture within the school and engage with new research in the field, both nationally and Internationally. <\/p>\n<p>The School of Politics and International Relations Research Seminar Series (SPIRRS) is the School&#8217;s bi-weekly research seminar series held in term time, aimed primarily at staff and PG students, that invites guest speakers to discuss their on-going or recently published research, whether journal articles, papers or books.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to enhance the research culture within the School; to publicise and engage with new research in the discipline and field at large; to enhance the national and international profile, which due to the burgeoning acceptance of on line gatherings post pandemic we can really take advantage of.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Guests for the remainder of this term include;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> Mr Morvan Lallouet, Kent on 3 Nov<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof Lee Jones, QMUL on 17 Nov\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Aris Roussinos, Emmy-award winning ex-war correspondent for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vice.com\/en\/section\/news\">VICE news<\/a>, 10 Nov, 6pm\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof Gina Reinhardt, Essex on 1 Dec<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prof Tanisha Fazal, Minnesota on 15 Dec<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xmsonormal\"><strong>Tim Bale,<\/strong> <strong>Queen Mary University of London\u00a0 2 February, 3.30pm\u00a0\u00a0<i>European populism\u00a0<\/i>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Every second Wednesday afternoon online, from 3.30 to 5pm.
