Since 2014 when Scotland decided by 55 percent to 45 percent not to separate itself from the UK, independence and the question of Scotland\u2019s sovereignty has dominated the political scene. Scotland\u2019s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said Prime Minister Boris Johnson won\u2019t oppose a second independence referendum if the SNP wins by a majority in the election next month. In an interview with the Guardian, Ms Sturgeon said: \u201cIf people in Scotland vote for a party saying \u2018when the time is right, there should be an independence referendum\u2019, you cannot stand in the way of that \u2013 and I don\u2019t think that this is what will happen.\u201d Last week, election polls conducted by Ipsos Mori for STV News and Opinium for Sky News put the SNP on track to win a majority and a historic fourth term in Government.<\/p>\n
