Kent Shortlisted for University of the Year 2015

The Universtiy of Kent has been shortlisted for University of the Year 2015 in the annual Times Higher Education Awards.

The THE University of the Year Award, which is open to all higher education institutions in the UK, celebrates exceptional performance in the past academic year and in particular those ‘bold, imaginative and innovative initiatives that have advanced an institution’s reputation’.

Alongside University of the Year, Kent has also been nominated in the Outstanding Support for Student category, which recognises institutions that help students ‘gain the maximum benefit from their study’

This news comes as the University celebrates its 50th year, inviting alumni, former staff and the community onto campus to experience how the University has developped into a modern, innovative institution.

The School of Poltiics and International Relations, a founding School of the University, has celebrated a number of successes this year; including achieiving a top 10 national league table position and being ranked in the top 20 amongst UK universities for for Research Power and Research Impact in REF 2014.

The winners will be announced on 26 November.
