The School of Politics and International Relations is proud to have sponsored the 12th annual Kent Teacher of the Year awards.
On Tuesday 19th May a total of fifty six of the county’s best educators, school volunteers and support staff attended an awards ceremony at Leeds Castle, each nominated for the vital roles they play in their communities.
The Awards were started to mark the vital contribution that teaching staff make to our community and recognise the expertise and dedication that is the hallmark of an outstanding teacher. Nominations are received from the local community, colleagues, parents and students for teachers that have shown outstanding dedication in the last year. This year the School sponsored the award for Best Politics Teacher in the county which was awarded to Mr Giovanni Saputo of Invicta Grammer School, Maidstone.
Mr Saputo was nominated for encouraging his students to develop their political outlook and opinions and bringing political debate to life in his classroom. The School will invite him and his students to take part in a UN simulation, either on the Canterbury campus, or at their school.
The School would like to congratulate and thank all nominees and winners for their incredible work and ongoing dedication to the development and education of young people in the county.
More information on the awards and a full list of winner can be found on the KM Charity Team website.
