These last two months have seen us head back into a national lockdown, but it hasn’t stopped our staff and students! Here is a summary of what has been going on here in the School of Politics and International Relations.
We continued to adjust to this new way of life…

- From Kerala to Kent, Liberal Arts student Johan Mappumchery Babu journeyed to campus for the first time amid the uncertainty of Covid. Read his story of determination and freedom.

Trump’s White House journey came to its end…
- Dr Andy Wroe commented on Trump finally conceding. “Spinning the false argument that the election was stolen by Biden, Trump allows the transition but maintains that he’s not a loser, because the election was stolen.” Read more.

Our minds were blown …
- A team of four Kent students including POLIR’s Ben Treacy made it to the finals of UK Cyber 9/12 Strategy Challenge. Find out about the challenge.
- We asked our staff and students to volunteer some suggestions for holiday reading. See if something grabs your attention!
- Dr Harmonie Toros was awarded a Research Fellowship for National Resilience with the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). Dr Toros plans to use her Fellowship to study the stories that are being told about men and women involved in violent extremism. Read more.
