On Wednesday the School of Politics and International Relations welcomed members from Extinction Rebellion, Professor Charlotte Sleigh, Georgina Treloar and Eske Eilts, as part of our Public Speaker Programme. The talk covered general information about the climate crisis and what can be done about it. Following the talk there was an extensive Q&A session, followed by a drinks reception in Grimond Foyer where the discussion was continued.
Extinction Rebellion is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience to bring attention and action in response to the climate crisis. It was formed in October 2018.
Thank you to our speakers and all our staff, students and members of the public for attending and engaging with this event!
The next Public Speaker Talk is scheduled for Wednesday 20 November at 5pm.
