GEC joined forces with the International Development Office at the University of Kent to organise the annual Europe Day celebrations, unconventionally, on 9th April. Events included a University Challenge event with three University of Kent Schools, our 1st European election hustings, hosting seven party representatives, and a European Culture Show following the logic of EU enlargement, as well as numerous thematic stalls.
We also launched the 1st Special Issue of the Kent Political Almanac ‘Europe in the World’ and our Doctoral students – presented a printed edition of their Europeanisation project – our first GEC student workshop held back in October 2013, ‘All things to all people? Internal and external approaches to Europeanisation’.
The University of Kent’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, commented on the Europe Day celebrations and the importance of Europe Day. Her comments are available here.
