On Tuesday 5th November, experts from our Politics department and colleagues from other schools held a panel event – discussing the US election – with many students, staff members, and members of the public in attendance.
Dr Andy Wroe, a specialist in American politics, and Dr Rubrick Biegon, a specialist in US foreign policy, discussed the projections and possible implications of the election outcome. We were joined by Dr Aurélie Basha i Novosejt, Senior Lecturer in American history and Andrew Jauert, a History student, who provided historical context to the 2024 contest.
Special shoutout to our co-organisers too – thank you to the History department and the UKC History Society for helping with the event.
Later in the evening, we held a watch party! More than a hundred students gathered to enjoy refreshments and discuss the election while watching the news coverage of early exit poll results.
