Master Your Future

A virtual welcome to the University of Kent

Explore our Politics and International Relations programmes with Dr Tim Aistrope!

“Thinking of joining us in September? If you do, you’ll be joining a diverse and vibrant cohort of postgraduate students from all over the world, making our community a truly global one. The welcoming environment on campus will make you feel right at home alongside your new classmates.

Once the academic year gets underway you will be taught by leading academics and practitioners. Across the first two terms you will undertake coursework modules that engage core debates and issue areas, as well as building the research skills you will apply in your individual research project. The summer term is devoted to this research, and you will receive one-to-one supervision throughout your research journey. By September 2025, when the course ends, you will be fully equipped to pursue a career related, or allied to, the course themes. However, many of our graduates choose to go on to further study through a PhD, building on the skills they have gained with us both inside and outside the classroom. We will be able to advise you on future directions when that time comes.

Please do not hesitate to reach out and ask for further information. I am very happy to talk with you about the School of Politics and International Relations and your programme – you can reach me at t.g.aistrope@kent.ac.uk. I can also put you in touch with one of our current MA students if you would like to find out more about the course before you start. For questions on the admissions process, finances and scholarships please email admissionskv@kent.ac.uk and they will get right back to you.”
