Coronavirus: School Update 1, Thursday 19 March

The health and welfare of our students, staff and visitors is of utmost priority for the University. Please see the University Coronavirus pages for the latest updates and FAQs for detailed information on how the University is responding and what it will mean for you.

Thank you to those who send us messages with your concerns. We recognise that these are unprecedented and testing times.

Following further discussion at School level, we are writing to inform you that all remaining coursework submission deadlines for this term will be moved back by 1 week. This includes Friday’s PO612 Reflective Report.

The only exceptions to this are:

PO679 Dissertation deadline – new deadline is 20th April 2020 (2-week extension to original deadline)

PO325 Online Reading Quiz 4 – deadline will remain the same (Tuesday 31st March 2020)

We have made this decision to ensure that no student is disadvantaged by the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic and the disruption to your studies.

The School operates a complex system of marking, moderation and external examiners’ involvement. There are also strict University deadlines in place. We are committed to rigour and accuracy, and for these reasons it is imperative that we make any changes in a careful and considered manner. However, given the sheer scale of the coronavirus outbreak, it is right that we move remaining deadlines back by 1-week to address your concerns.

We hope that this will provide some relief at this worrying time and that you will be able to complete your modules successfully.
