Professor Richard Whitman to chair European Parliamentary Election hustings event

Professor Richard Whitman from the School of Politics and International Relations (POLIR) will chair a European Parliamentary Elections hustings event for the South East Region on Thursday 16 May.

The event, organised by Kent Union, will take place from 18.30 in the Woolf Lecture Theatre on the Canterbury Campus and is free to attend. There is free parking on campus from 17.00.

Those interested in attending are invited to submit questions in advance of the event to help shape the debate. Questions should be sent to kentunion@kent.ac.uk and should be applicable to all candidates.

All parties have been invited to take part and confirmed candidates appearing at the event are as follows:

  • Change UK – Richard Ashworth
  • Conservative – Anna Firth
  • Greens – Alexandra Philips
  • Labour – John Howarth
  • Liberal Democrats – Antony Hook
  • Socialist Party – Andy Thomas
  • UKIP – Liz Phillips

The Brexit Party have been invited but have yet to confirm attendance.
