The Global Europe Centre submits evidence to Foreign Affairs Select Committee on costs and benefits of EU membership to UK’s role in the world

Professor Richard Whitman, Head of the School of Politics and International Relations and Director of the Global Europe Centre, recently submitted evidence to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Select Committee on the Costs and benefits of EU membership for the UK’s role in the world. His evidence has been published on the Foreign Affairs Committee website at http://data.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/committeeevidence.svc/evidencedocument/foreign-affairs-committee/the-costs-and-benefits-of-uk-membership-of-the-eu/written/22223.html

The evidence Professor Whitman submitted focused on the implications for UK and foreign policy if the UK exits the European Union. It argues that the impact for the UK would be profound and irreversible and lead to a significantly diminished international role for the UK.
