Public lecture ‘European Security 2.0: challenges and opportunities’ – Commissioner Füle, 1 October, 6pm

As part of the School of Politics and International Relations Beacon Project, Diplomacy @ Kent is pleased to welcome Commissioner Füle, former European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy.

Stefan Füle started his professional career at the Czechoslovakian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987 and since then has held many important positions at the Ministry, Czech embassies abroad as well as international organizations such as UN or NATO. Between 2005-9 he served as Czech Permanent Representative to NATO, after which he was appointed European Affairs Minister. Stefan Füle served as European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy between 2010 and 2014 and has recently joined the International Advisory Board of the Central European Strategy Council and he is also a member of the Advisory Board of Friends of Europe.

Commissioner Füle will be presenting ‘European Security 2.0: challenges and opportunities’. The talk will take place on Thursday 1st October 2015 at 6pm in Grimond Lecture Theatre 2, followed by a drinks reception in Grimond Foyer.
