POLIR is proud to announce the success of three of its students in this year’s Kent Student Awards.
Second year students Andreas Payne and Fiona Pedeboy were nominated in the categories of Outstanding Contribution to College Life and Outstanding Environmental Champion; while MA by Research Student Sebastian Bromelow was nominated in the
Outstanding Contribution to Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity category.
Students were nominated across 13 categories, with the entire shortlist being congratulated for going above and beyond in a number of activities and initiatives that benefit others.
The University celebrated this outstanding extracurricular student achievement at the 2015 Kent Student Awards Gala Dinner which took place on Friday 8 May.
While Andreas, nominated for being a dedicated College Committee President and volunteer, improving the experience of Eliot College students, narrowly missed out to KBS student Miruna Beldiman; both Fiona and Sebastian were the overall winners in their categories.
Sebastian also received a special commendation for Student of the Year for single-handedly transforming LGBT History Month at the University of Kent and making it the largest in the UK.
Congratulations to all the students involved in the awards, further information can be found here: http://www.kent.ac.uk/student/kentawards/winners/index.html
