Dr Ruth Blakeley new lead editor of ‘Review of International Studies’ from January 2016

The School of Politics and International Relations will be institutional host of the Review of International Studies from January 2016.

The journal is being brought to the School by Dr Ruth Blakeley, Reader in International Relations at the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Kent, who drafted the successful bid, and will be the Lead Editor of the journal.

The winning editorial team is composed of a global group of experienced scholars with expertise that cover the breadth of the discipline. Ruth Blakeley brings expertise in IR and Security focusing on US foreign policy, and is a leading international expert on state violence and human rights. Sophie Harman (Queen Mary) brings expertise in international political economy and development and is a leading international specialist in global health. She has a regional focus and expertise on sub-Saharan Africa. Jonathan Joseph (Sheffield) has expertise in the areas of IR theory, global governance and international interventions. He also has a broad knowledge of sociology, social theory and philosophy as well as qualitative research methods. Craig Murphy (Massachusetts, Boston) is a leading authority on globalization and inequality. He has published widely on US policy toward the developing world, economic debates within the UN and the co-evolution of industrial capitalism and international institutions.  Scarlett Cornelissen (Stellenbosch) has expertise in African political economy and development, foreign policy-making in the African context and Afro-Asia relations.
