Dr Ben Seyd is co-convening a workshop at the next ECPR Joint Session in Warsaw in spring 2015 on what citizens want from their political system, and how they judge the existing political system to measure up to these ideals. Spread over five days, the workshop will bring together up to 20 international scholars to consider public attitudes towards democratic ideals and realities. The conclusions should give us a clearer understanding of the reasons for the political distrust and disaffection currently seen across many western countries.
