CARC on Capitol Hill – 30 April 2014

On April 30, 2014, Dr Andrea Den Boer took part in a policy event on Capitol Hill. This was co-sponsored by the University of Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism, and Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL), founder and co-chair of the Senate U.S.-China Working Group.  The conference, entitled, ‘Beyond the Pivot: Managing Asian Security Crises’, brought together prominent academics, policymakers, and members of the think tank community to discuss preventing low-level security crises, (which are increasingly frequent), from escalating into larger conflicts.
