Ogden Outreach awards winners!!!

Discovery Planet wins the ‘longitudinal projects to widen participation’ award.

By Nikki Gregory | 02 August 2022

The Ogden Outreach Awards celebrate physics outreach and recognise the efforts of those involved in developing and delivering it, thereby raising the profile of all the incredible physics outreach work being undertaken across the country and highlight best practice in the field.

The outreach awards are open annually to any higher education institution who is currently in receipt of, or who has previously received, Ogden funding.

Longitudinal projects to widen participation award

This award recognises excellence in the development and delivery of projects which use repeat interventions to work with widening participation audiences. Nominated projects demonstrate how repeat interventions have successfully worked with widening participation audiences and in what ways this had benefitted participants.

Discovery Planet winners

It’s lovely to be able to say that, at the inaugural Ogden Trust Awards 2022, Discovery Planet won the ‘longitudinal projects to widen participation’ award.

Nikki Hildesley from Discovery Planet and Dr Victoria Mason from the Universtiy of Kent were there to accept the award (after discovering that they were the winners at the event itself).

Dr Mason says:

“It’s great to be recognised by such a prestigious award, and we are delighted that we have been awarded £1000 towards our project.”
